June 9, 2008, 2PM: Played 1 hour, 45 minutes, Made $63.00 at Pinball Casino
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 24 Players)

Got up after a long night at work and decided to head in and play and get some lunch.

First few hands I got sucked in with an A10 against an AK.  We both flopped and ace, and then I turned an open ender.  The guy checked on the turn, and I bet, he just called.  The river was blank, then he comes out betting, I call and lose.  This guy could not even remember what he had after the hand was over.  I told him I wished he made two pair, and he didn't get the fact that I would have made my straight.  With a little help and comedy from the dealer, he said, "so what would have happened if I made two pair?" The dealer jokingly says, "A FLUSH".  Made me laugh cuzz he believed that.

So, I was shortstacked, and doubled up.  Then I started playing some fun poker.  Made a solid bet on the turn with 4 straight cards out there to get a guy off of his set.

Raised UTG and stole the blinds with 23, and showed it, so I could mess around with peoples heads.

The best one was, I was in the small blind, get two limpers, and I move all in.....WITHOUT LOOKING! Everyone folds, and I tell them I didnt look and roll over my junk.  The very next hand, a guy min raises and I take a quick peek at AQ...I move all in quick again.  He thought I hadnt looked and called me down with A10.  Yippee.

Skated along to the final table, stole some blinds to stay alive and just waited till the donks busted out.  Flopped second pair and pushed...with the lowest stack and blinds eating me up.

Good times....good times!

June 9, 2008, 4AM: Played 30 minutes, Made $18.30 at Pinball Casino
$0.25 No-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Just dinking around while I catch up on some computer stuff.  Pretty fun little game to play.  They actually play pretty solid for what limit it is.

Every once in a while though, you get a donkey just not having any clue, calling you down with middle pair and no low draw on the turn.

I made an interesting and complex call on the turn when I had numerous outs for the river...got there on one end, with a weak low and ended up hogging it.

For some reason, people like to try to bluff with a small bet..which is weird to me....well not so weird, but in retrospect, I made the call with actually calculating outs and probability of one or the other holding up.

June 6, 2008, 7PM: Played 2 hours, 30 minutes, Made $151.00 at Big Daddy's
$35 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 30 Players)

This was a bounty tournament with one bounty for 160.  I started off at a pretty easy to read table, just taking my time and waiting for the right moments.

We got down to two tables, where I was happy to see two really easy to read players.  They will min raise with weak hands, and go super agro with big hands.  So, I double up while making a set in the big blind.  The funny thing was, the guy thought I was bluffing, and called me down with just an ace for what would be about 3/5 of his chip stack.  Then, I started being a bit more aggressive, since I had the chip lead at my table, won a race, and had KK hold up.

Final table was simple and I just chilled out.  I double up my partner in the tournament, which kept him alive.

With 6 people remaining, including the bounty, who was one of the bosses, and my partner, we decided to chop.  I was chipped out 2 to 1 against the leader, and probably about the same as the 2, 3, and 4 spots.  The bounty was in fifth, but had enough to make a dent in anyone and my partner was low low low.  So, with the bounty 1 hour late to pick up his daughter, and my partner low man, I pushed the big stack to chop.  He was just happy to get some money.  I could have outplayed the table, but the blinds were rapidly going up, and crapshoots were on the horizon.  So, since I was splitting with my partner, this was a good scenario.  I would have had to take at least 2nd and take out the bounty to get about what we got each.

Finally played really solid poker again, and did not make any huge errors like I did the last tournament.

June 6, 2008, 12PM: Played 10 minutes, Lost $25.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (29th out of 29 Players)

The very first hand, I get JJ and reraise pre to get two callers.  I am in last position.  Board comes all little, 343.
They check to me, and I bet half the pot, get a call, the a raise all in.  I think for a sec, and then dump it.  The other guy thinks for a minute and dumps it face up, showing QQ.

The guy who wins the pot, turns over pocket K's...so good laydown, and I respect the guy who made the move.  He like to limp trap with big hands.

Next hand I get 88, and end up getting heads up with AK.  Lost the race.

Love being first out.

$0.10 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Wow, what a crappy game to play.  I just thought i would try it out cuzz I was getting bored on the computer tonight.  The players are horrid, and the rake is bad too.  I chopped a pot with someone, and came out a big freaking loser.  But, I guess you do have to understand that even at this limit they still need to make money...NOT! This guy just called my all in with no low draw and a pair of dueces.  Thats it..catches two pair to split.  Ugh...what a bad level this is.  But, I guess if you are at the bottom of the barrel with money, this is where you need to go. Hahaha! Got stuck early, then squeeked out a win,,funny, people still play aces the same way at this level too.
