November 14, 2010, 12PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $20.00 at Pauly's Poker League
$20 Buy-In Texas Hold'em Tournament (19th out of 23 Players)
Who's the worst player ever?? No, not me...It's Angie!! Just kidding...although she did bust out before me.
There were a few new faces this year, and I went in with the plan of being aggressive early to establish a table image. I got caught with a decent but second best hand (outkicked) and lost 75% of my stack. Played it smart for a while til I picked up 10-10 in the small blind...pushed my last 725...got called by big blind who had two undercards, and by Kevin who had K-10...he caught his king on the flop to send me home early.
I like the new start time, wish I would have lasted longer. I am now tied with mark for the season...we'll see how he does in 2 weeks.

November 9, 2010, 7PM: Played 3 hours, Made $8.00 at Mark's House
$0.25/0.50 Texas Hold'em
Really short-handed this week...we played Tuesday instead of Wednesday because of the final table airing on ESPN of the WSOP main event...once again, I started in the hole because of pre-game blackjack...but managed to eke out a small win. I made a straight flush on the river against Mark, and later hit quads and got Paco to pay off a smallish bet on the river. As always, a lot of fun playing more for glory and bragging rights than money...
see ya next week!

November 4, 2010, 10AM: Played 3 hours, Made $2.00 at Mark's House
$0.25/0.50 Texas Hold'em
ugly night early...but finished strong...was in the hole $10 before we started playing blackjack while we waited...I proceeded to burn through the other $19 I brought with me in about an hour...I had to get Mark to float me $20 so I could keep playing. I finally put my head on straight and tightened up.
Got healthy again with J-9 suited. Called a $1 dollar straddle, which was raised by Jeff to $2. Flop was J-J-6. I check, Paco bet, Pat called, Jeff RAISED! I tanked for a minute and decided to take it down, all-in for $24. Paco deliberated and called, Pat folds, Jeff gives a speech and makes the call. Over $40 in the main pot and another $5 on the side for Jeff & I. Paco has J-4, K-K for Jeff. My hand holds up and I coast to a $2 win for the night.
Wish you could be there...it's a great fun game!

October 29, 2010, 7PM: Played 2 hours, 30 minutes, Lost $50.00 at Snooker's
$50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (65th out of 120 Players)
Huge turn-out for a Friday tourney at Snookers....got seated late (2nd round of blinds) and played super snug for the first hour and a half. Finally picked up K-Q off in late position and called a small raise from a very aggressive player. Flop was K-Q-10 in 2 suits..He came out wityh a bet that was about 60% of my stack, I insta-shove with top 2 pair, he insta calls with middle pair and a draw. My hand holds up and I doubled through.
Caught a bad beat after the break. I had J-9 of clubs and called a pre-flop raise from an agressive player...flop was 7-7-5 with 2 clubs. he bets, I call. Turn is 2 of clubs for my Jack high flush...he bets, I push all-in and he snap calls with A-Q of clubs to knock me out....bad luck catching the club....
A lot of action at Snookers.

October 27, 2010, 8AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $100.00 at Maverick's Poker House
$1/2 Texas Hold'em
everything that could go wrong did...and in record time. Second hand played at short-handed table....Limped with K-10 os...Flop was K-K-Q...I bet $12..get one caller...Turn is a 6...I bet $20...limper calls...River is a 4...no straight or flush draws out there...I bet $22...he beats me to the pot all in...I call...He turns over K-4 os for a rivered boat and giggles to his idiot pals about what a great move he made...
half hour later, I button limp an unraised pot with K-J suited..big blind is a young asian guy...he makes it $12...everyone folds to me, and I push for my last $18...he calls. He has 9-10 suited...we both have hearts...I feel great about my hand until the turn hits his 10...I get no help and get busted...time to go!

October 21, 2010, 9AM: Played 3 hours, Made $37.00 at Mark's House
$0.25/0.50 Texas Hold'em
Oh what a night! Paco and Pat both posted. It seemed like I couldn't buy a hand for the first half hour, then everything I played hit the flop. Rivered a couple of flushes for some decent pots. Key hand for the night was between Pat and Chris. Board showed Q-J-J-6-3. Pat led the betting all the way...Chris raised all-in on the river, pat tanked for a bit, then called with A-J...Chris rolls over Q-J for the house and scoops a pot with about $25 in it.
Paco told us all about his trip to Fiji and Tahiti, Mark made us his famous tacos, and I went home a $37 winner!
I wish this was a higher stakes game, but that might ruin the fun too. That was the most fun I've had playing in a long time!

fun night playing short handed...no Paco...no Clubb...but...Pat showed up for the second week in a row. No exceptional hands, except a turned straight against Mark, which he called all the way to the river....sweeeeet...still a losing night, but where are ya going to have that much fun for less than the price of a pizza?

What a sad-sack loser piece of shit I am. When will I learn that you can't bluff a donkey? Came up second best against flopped quads with Chris, and a smaller turned flush against Mark. I played amazingly badly all night long. The night couldn't end soon enough for this loser. Thankfully, the $10 buy-in minimized my losses. Can't wait to get it all back next Wednesday!

October 5, 2010, 8PM: Played 1 hour, 45 minutes, Lost $100.00 at Maverick's Poker House
$1/2 Texas Hold'em
Lousy night at Maverick's...There were only about 15 people in the whole place, so I had to play short-handed until a seat at the main game opened up. Card dead most of the night. Very aggressive and loose game. Laid down eventual winning hands to overbets a couple of times. Finally got caught raising with an underpair preflop (5-5 vs. Q-Q)..I raised to $32 all-in...got 5...FIVE callers, including the Q-Q. Flop was A-K-7 rainbow, turn was a 6, river 9. Everyone in the hand checked it down to the river. K-4 offsuit was the winning hand. I want that call every time...he called $30 more with K-4 from the small blind!! Even donkeys catch cards once in a while. Lost $100 for the night and went home early.

October 3, 2010, 8PM: Played 1 hour, Made $185.00 at Maverick's Poker House
$1/2 Texas Hold'em
All the regular fish at Mav's tonight, plus a few I haven't seen before. Bought in for $100. Played tight aggressive. Raised to $12 from the BB with 9-9...4 callers.Flop was A-J-9 with 2 diamonds. I was first to act and decided that $60 was a big enough pot, so I pushed all in for $110. Got called for about $90 of that all in with nut flush draw...turn was 8 of spades. River was 8 of diamonds, making his flush and my boat...poker is fun!
