February 29, 2008, 2PM: Played 50 minutes, Lost $25.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (25th out of 36 Players)

I am officially a break even poker player.  I got lucky in one hand and then got unlucky to get knocked out.  What you gonna do? Mikey and his heaters lol.

February 23, 2008, 1PM: Played 5 hours, 30 minutes, Broke Even at Annual Tourney House
$50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 10 Players)

Another installment of the annual Last Hand Standing Invitational.  Was up and down but was rarely under the starting chips.  After about the 3rd round I was the chip leader and maintained that until we got down to 4.  At that point I kept getting those second bests.  Made it to 3rd place and went out with top pair but my kicker was not as good as his.  Got my money back.  Nice to not go out first as I've done for the previous 2 year's tourneys.

Good times.

February 16, 2008, 4PM: Played 40 minutes, Broke Even at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (28th out of 36 Players)

This was like a free roll for me as my Dad wanted to pay me to come up and answer questions from all the curious ex-coworkers about what I've been doing for the last 6 months ;)

As for the play, I think I only really made one mistake that only cost me 100 chips.  Otherwise my day was one of raising preflop with the few good hands I got and watching everyone of them be outflopped by inferior hands.  Oh well, normal for the poker world.

August 24, 2007, 2PM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Made $119.00 at Big Daddy's (OTC)
$4/8 Texas Hold'em

This was one of those get sucked out on for the first hour and a half every hand I played.  Fortunately once I was down to $15 in my second rack I started the comeback.  Had a good day and so did Duane while he dealt.  Good day of work!

Just really couldn't get anything going.  Not much to be happy or upset about.

August 15, 2007, 12PM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Made $229.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 23 Players)

Two cashes in a row.  This is cool.  I'm playing a little more slowly than I may have in the past and am doing a tiny bit more gambling in the right places.  Today one payed off big.  There was an extra blind in with an alternate's new arrival.  He had acted like he wanted to fold.  Then there was a raise of just 1.5x the blind.  I'm in the small blind with 10 6 off.  I know the raiser has a big hand but with my chip stack at the time and with 100% certainty that the alternate was going to fold I called.  The flop was a gin flop for me 10 6 x.  The important was the x in the flop was not a big card.  I bet a tiny bit more than the preflop raise to be immediately raised by the preflop raiser.  I immediately call and upset the table.  Not negatively, but in a way that had everyone talking.  No help to the KK that was turned up by my opponent and I take it down.  The other fun hand was 4 handed I flop a flush and take out the second biggest stack to give me a dominating chip lead and managed to play it well to victory.  Didn't have many pps.  Only big ones were KK and QQ and both lost.  But my 66 with the 6 of spades was huge taking out a player and crippling the chip leader at the time with a 4 card flush on board.  Nice ;)

August 7, 2007, 12PM: Played 1 hour, 15 minutes, Made $93.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 20 Players)

Heeeeeeeeeee's baaaaaaack! This was a 3 way chop.  Got lucky in one hand with all in on wired 10's vs. A's.  I flopped a set of 10's and it held up.  Whoops.  Pretty much sailed through the whole thing.  Pretty pleased with my first poker action in over a month!

July 2, 2007, 7PM:
Bangkok

The date of this post is actually July 3 at 9am.  That's because I'm sitting here in Bangkok, Thailand. It's already been quite interesting and I've only been here about 4 days.  I was really hoping that I'd be able to play some poker in another country but no dice (pun somewhat intended as gambling is illegal).  Oh well, hope all the poker folks I know on here are having some poker fun for me while I'm gone.  I'll be back in the states somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks.  Of course I'll see some of you then! Take care!
