i mean... i hate bitching, bitching about beats is one of the most annoying things in the world... but when you're having the worst result night of your life
and then you suffer that one spot off from the money, about to make a big double up... guy bluffs totally into your made hand and he hits a runner miracle... things like that are what make people think it's rigged
like, i've been bad beaten before... but just over, and over, and over when you're getting in a position to amke a big move... it just blows my mind
meanwhile, i keep getting monster pre-flop hands at my cash table taht i can't translate into a huge pot yet
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

On line poker
It is becoming more obvious that when you play on-line-poker you are up against aggression. A bunch of youth that never worked a day in their life and to them money is just something you can get whenever you need it. "Don't tell me this may be a job!"
I am thinking more of getting away from on line. I see more luck then I see skill. I moved up in blinds at one point and I saw more poker, however my bank could only allow me to stay at small blinds as of late. I'm sure others recognize the difference between on line and other forms of poker. Maybe you have a different style to play against it. I am new to the game. I have only been playing poker for 8 months or so for money, other then that I never knew the game.
It is even hard to hone your skills at poker on line. It's like playing for play money to learn real money play. Two different animals!

Poker Break and Roulette
I am up in the UP visiting my friend from school. We went to their little dump of an Indian casino and I made $17 playing roulette. On a more relevant note this little trip is forcing a 6 day break from poker on me. I think it is a good time for one i am in a little bit of a down swing and I think i just need to come back with a fresh and positive outlook, especially for the cash games. i was going on tilt pretty quickly lately and that is obviously bad news.

AA vs. KK
I just had AA on FTP, and I was reraised preflop, I reraised to push him all in and we were headsup. I had AA and he had KK.
Im sure what you all know whats coming, and I did too. I just had that feeling and voice in my head saying its over. And sure enough, another King fell on the flop giving him his set.
Now Im sure you all that play alot have had this happen, probably more than once... but what Im really saying is how it didnt surprise me at all. I EXPECTED it to happen. No, I KNEW it was gonna happen. And once it happened, I remained calm, hoping an Ace would drop but only in wishful thinking. Ive always been a skeptic of what they call "poker ESP", but I do believe there are moments where this theory may be true. In this case, it wouldn't have helped me anyways.
Oh well..........

Missed Posts
Nate and I have been playing sparingly the past few weeks due to Nate being in Seattle and me working. During this time both him and I missed a few posts but in retrospect we figure we are about even having not had any big scores. I for instance lost 200 or so out at Quest but won it back the next day at Big Daddy's. Same goes with Nate who was up at Northern Quest 100 or so dollars then went at sat in the Omaha Hi-Low game and lost the money he was up. From here on out we will be keeping tabs again on our roll.

Cash Tables
Was afraid of cash tables for so long. One thing I found was when you play at higher stacks you play poker and not just a crap shoot. I can play poker. I like to play poker and not just have to decide if this guys all in bet on the river is for real or is he making a desperate play at the pot. I picked up Harrington's book as suggested by the fine people here. (though there is one guy that does not want me to number him among the fine) but the book although I've only been through the first couple of chapters was great. It taught me about styles of players and how to play against it and so much more. I suggest that if you would like a good read to pick up Harrington's book.

Done w/ Online
After about 6 months of no real profit and the worst bad beats that I can even handle at this point in time, im hanging online up for about 3-4 months. I use to make final tables like nothing on Full Tilt until I hit the worst bad run. I can't seem to get past going in with the best hands, even higher pocket pairs, and getting beat by runner runner straights, or the board leaving 5 to the flush, or tripping the Opposition up with something like A8. So until i can get a better run and get the frustration off my mind about it, im done. So im going to Windsor this weekend to see what Live poker is all about. Ive only played 4 local tournaments and have made the final 2 tables but always am plagued with the river card. A guy called me last night in a home game (about 120 pot) with an up and down straight draw with 1 card to go and i had a pair and he hit his card...... he held 5/8 offsuit. Thats a home game for you. But yea.... im done, online blows.

Thinking More
Reading Harrington's book as suggested by others here on OPL. I am finding something that I suppose many already know. Yet I will ramble. I am finding the game (Texas Hold'em) more then just the two cards you are dealt. Observation is very crucial to the game.
What are your opponents doing? and how, and why, do you think they do that?
What is your postion at the table chip wise?
What is your image?
What image do you give other players?
This truly is a game that you can never get tired of because it can not be mastered. You can gain a great advantage though if you realize it is more then the two cards you are dealt!
I only wish I had discovered this game in my youth.
