July 1, 2010, 10PM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Made $905.00 at Carom Cafe
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Ran super good tonight. Flopped a straight flush and quads in one night! What are the odds of that happening? FYI, I got paid on the straight flush, but not on quads.

Other than that, just played standard TAG style. Stole some pots here and there with my tight image, and the rest of the time, just played solid poker.

Sadly, I'm still down overall for the year at Carom Cafe. This means, I've been playing like dogshit + running super bad there ever since I started playing there, geez.

Hopefully, after my next session at Carom Cafe, I'll be up there for the year. There's no reason why I shouldn't be winning there consistently.

May 29, 2010, 11AM:
WSOP Fantasy Bet

My friend and I picked teams again this year.  Sorry to OPL for not posting/making this available for everyone.  It was semi-last minute, and, basically, I forgot.  Scoring (same as last time):

Cash 100
Final Table 300
3rd 500
2nd 700
1st 1,000

If the event is a 5k we multiply the points by 1.5.
If it's 10k we multiply by 2.
The 50k Player's Championship (8-game mix) and the 25k NL 6-Max will be multiplied by 3.
Women's, Seniors, and TOC events are not included.

Me----------------------Ryan

Daniel Negreanu---------Phil Ivey
Barry Greenstein--------Gus Hansen
Phil Hellmuth-----------JC Tran
Jason Mercier-----------Erick Lindgren
Jeffrey Lisandro--------Scott Clements
Mike Matusow------------Allen Cunningham
Chris Ferguson----------Isaac Baron
Gavin Griffin-----------Steve Gross
Daniel Alaei------------Ted Forrest
Annette Obrestad--------Antonio Esfandiari

Overall, I like my team.  I think it is really important to get players that can play all the games as they will have a much better chance of final tabling a 300 person Stud8 tourney than a 4k person NLH tourney.  I think Mercier at #4 was a stretch for me.  Also, not sure how much Ferguson, Griffin and Alaei are going to be playing.  I wish I could take Bonomo and Binger in place of two of my later picks in hindsight.  For Ryan, I think Gus at #2 was really reaching.  I also wonder how much AC, Forrest, and Antonio will play.

I destroyed Ryan in this bet two years ago, but we didn't do it last year.  I think the teams are a little more even this year.  I do think I have a slight edge however.

June 26, 2010, 1AM: Played 6 hours, Lost $1,380.00 at Harrahs
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

This weekend was horrible, I havn't have had a run like this in such a long time, all the bad beats that I got hit with just made me not want to play at Harrah's anymore. I seem to never win there.

The fact that I got dealt Kings 2 hands in a row and got no action speaks to my frustrations and when I did have cards i would get rivered or just get beat badly.

1 hand that i still can't get out of my head is being dealt (10,8h) on the button raising 25 dollars with 2 callers, flopping 10,5,8 rainbow, I now have 2 pair i raise, 1 person folds the other person reraise, I repop ad he finally shoves, I call and have bottom 2 while the other person had 10,5 and rivers a 5 and i bust out. After all of this i stay calm and don't scream out my frustraions and rebuy for another 300.

After i rebuy i get dealt (j'10spades) and flop comes 10,10,7. I raise get reaised all in and i call and my opponent flips over pocket 7's. This weekend was so depressing and I couldn't believe my luck I never ran this bad in my life. Seems like everything that could go bad did.

Now i plan on taking a few days off from poker and just relax before I play again.

June 27, 2010, 12AM: Played 5 hours, Lost $1,497.00 at Borgata
$10 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Had [Jc 2c] on a [9c 10c 9s][Qc] board and called an all-in and lost to [10 9], who flopped it.

I'm starting to learn from experience, when players at these stakes bet very, very big like $1000 over or go all-in instantly, they have it 99% of the time.

These past few weeks of playing $5/$10 NL, I've been making some big calls in situations where either the villain has it or they are bluffing with 2nd best, and in all of those spots, the villain has turned out to have it.

About 3 weeks ago, I got re-raised all-in instantly on a 3 suit flop when I flopped the jack-high flush, and I reluctantly laid it down – it was really, really, really hard to lay that down. Yuya has been saying I should've called, but now that I know how these players like to go all-in instantly when they have it, I feel a lot better about that laydown now.

If it wasn't for busting out in this session, I would've had a very good weekend poker wise. I made some sick calls this weekend and overall, I was really satisfied with my play.

Maybe next weekend, I'll walk away from the Borgata being 100% satisfied with my play.

June 24, 2010, 2PM: Played 1 hour, 39 minutes, Lost $148.66 at full tilt rush
$0.25 Pot-Limit Omaha

SUCH A DUMBASS! I played some call of duty all night, then had an interview in the morning, so only got 4 hours of sleep.  It started bad and I found myself in a ton of spots where I was getting a lot of chips in where I normally wouldn't...I managed to get to about 25 stuck when I had a bb vs. sb hand with 55xx on 5 6 6 flop, we get all in and he has 6 7 9 9, I have a 7 as well, but that of course doesn't prevent the 4 outer from rivering, well this tilted me and I really started gambling...I took a pretty bad beat that I don't recall, but it pissed me off and I ended up shoving on a hand that was going on at another table with a naked nut flush draw for about 40 bucks, I turn the nuts vs. a set but of course my donkey play can't be rewarded and he resucks, so I went on about 10 or 15 minutes of anger at my chips.  Really annoyed at myself for taking a week or so worth of decent play and just giving it away like a jackass.  This is the exact sort of leak I had been doing well well, but it finally caught up with me again.  I really get annoyed when I play tired.

April 1, 2010, 7PM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Made $0.20 at PokerStars.com
$0.10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (216th out of 2041 Players)

Might have been able to come in within the first hundred (to earn points for USA) if I wouldn't have pushed all in when i flopped top pair with ace kicker (queens), opponent flopped straight, and that's all she wrote. Not me the game. :) I have numerous entries I still need to add to this log, like I mentioned before. The last 2 entries I entered were never posted for some reason. sux!! I noted that I wasn't able to add hand history, even though I uploaded to site I dont know how to do it. So for now I'll just include poker related links, as usual. bye!
