$15/30 Omaha Hi-Lo

This game was too hard to pass up.  It was a full game and I watched it for about 40 hands.  These guys were just ramming and jamming.  I put my chips in with the best hand...raised according to ram and jam style..getting the most bang for my buck.  I was up a bit more than my win, but really needed to get to bed for my big move tomorrow.  I really need to keep an eye on this game, as it is relatively easy to book a win.  My bankroll still isn't quite big enough for this game, but I had a feeling after getting good reads off of so many players.  Took some beats and gave some beats.

I made some great moves, isolating certain people to take half the pot with minimal risk.  Good times tonight! Can't wait to play this game again...but bedtime for now!

$2 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Short handed play.  Got a guy trapped twice, he had second second both times.  I like this game, but I want to be able to have a bit more backing before I play it regularly.  I will start putting some money aside, including this win, and keep my budget strict.  I want to focus on tournaments right now, and time consumption to improve my play of long periods of time.  My downfall is wanting a quick win or loss and not sit around all day.  But, I think that risk to reward is better right now to play tournaments.  I will play a little lower PLO games and focus on my tournament play.

January 26, 2008, 6PM: Played 3 hours, 30 minutes, Made $290.00 at Big Daddy's
$100 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 17 Players)

This was a deep stack tournament with 30 minute rounds and 10,000 in chips.  It's about time....you can actually PLAY poker...not just crapshoot.  For some reason, people were still making way too big of raises in the early round.  At one point, the blinds were 100/200 and a guy pushed with 8000 left cuz he felt he was short stacked....lol. People would make 10X raises pre flop and I couldn't comprehend why...but I digress.

I was on probably my B+ game tonight, and I really utilized a lot of different weapons to get my chips.
We got down to 3 handed and I was outchipped 4 to 1 by both opponents.  One was a nice guy...regular and the other was a BJ dealer.  They cut me an awesome deal where we all got 400 back and then played for the rest.  One guy said that he wanted to know that he would at least make 2nd place money with the deal with the chance to make more. I had to agree, and I ended up buying them a round for such an awesome deal for me.  I went out a few hands later on one of two mistakes I made in the whole tournament, not pushing with top pair on the flop.  My oponent caught a k on the turn and it was too late.

Fun tournament...should gain a lot of popularity for Spokane of over the next few months!

January 22, 2008, 2PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $25.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (11th out of 22 Players)

Got short stacked when i didn't trust my reads twice.  I had 200 left with the blind at 100-200.  Chipped up to 4000, and almost made the final table.  Blinds were 500-1000, and pushed with JJ and AJ.  AJ was a race and I lost.  Oh well!

Just skated along not catching any hands.  Double up on 99's.  Then started to steal blinds....the got caught speeding when I was in the small blind and tried to steal the big.

Was just having fun, talking it up with the regulars...will try again tomorrow!
