Paul Sexton's Full-Tilt Chat Session
First time I was online for one of these, so I tried to submit whatever ridiculous things came to mind... so, I figured I'd post the responses:
Question From Steveinho: paul, do you prefer the fu-manchu or a goatee?
Paul Sexton: no fu, go big or go home, goat or the full
Question From Steveinho: paul, do you think razz was a gift bestowed upon us from god to make up for the demon that is
deuce-to-seven?
Paul Sexton: razz is the dumbest game ever invented
Question From Steveinho: oh come on... i'd skip my own funeral to play razz... that's a stud variant, you should be on that
Paul Sexton: razz is retarded, there is no skill, you cant have hidden hands, you cant be deceptive, its a game for people who dont want to think
(i died a little bit inside after that one)
Question From Steveinho: other than me, who is the one person you'd be most comfortable staking?
Paul Sexton: My little brother
Question From Steveinho: paul... what's your favorite beer? i'm thinking you're more of a dark beer guy
Paul Sexton: nah, light beer, coors lite or miller lite
Question From Steveinho: you do admire dan harrington.. right?? right??
Paul Sexton: dan is a great great player
paul hates razz.... how can ANYONE hate razz?

I agree with you there, in no-limit the swings can be intense, plus i believe you really have to be more selective of the hands you play in certain positions. Then we you do have that selection, now you have find a way to trap your opponent into maximizing your win and at the same time not be afraid to cut it loose to minimize your loss.
In limit these factors still play but the wins/losses can be far more intense.
This is why I prefer NLH tournaments, and for live games I prefer limit.
I have not yet mastered the patience to play NLH in live games like I have for tournaments.

i agree... me and my friends hate on razz a lot in a joking, but there's definitely skill to the game... just like NL hold'em...
in no limit, the swings are massive... you just have to show enough skill to handle them
i'm much more successful at limit currently due to such swings

I dont know how people can hate razz!! I definetly dont agree with paul when he said that razz is not a skill game. There are definately times you can have someone board locked, but if thats the case you are playing against an idiot. I think in razz you can have hidden hands and definately be sneaky. But like any other poker game, you dont want your opponent to draw out on you when you have a nice 7 made after 6th street.
