9th's - 1

I have;
3 WSOP Step 3

2 LAPT Step 3

STEP 2's
I'm finding step twos more difficult.. they still are turbos but people don't bust out as quickly.  So I can't fold down to 3-5 players and then "turn it on".  They also are more aggressive.  Also, to stay on track with money invested I will need 9 step 3's and it is looking like that may not happen :(

*frustrated*

May 5, 2008, 4AM: Made $86.00 at Poker Stars
Bonus

Took half of Jason's action in:
3 heads up $50 HORSE matches
1 heads up $50 Limit Holdem match

I could not help him with as much in the 3rd HORSE match as I was in the money in two events.  Didn't matter though, he swept all 4 matches.

$33 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (24th out of 487 Players)

Blah again.. just right up to the point in the tournamnt when it gets fun!

I do my bset though and that is all that matters.

I'm not making mistakes and tournamnents just go this way.

Time is all...

May 5, 2008, 3AM: Played 1 hour, Made $33.00 at Full Tilt
$75 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (25th out of 219 Players)

Blah...

Made the money yes.. but got donked out which annoyed me like usuall.

A2 in SB vs BB as everyone folded.

Blinds are 1/2k and I have a 10K stack, BB has around 35K so I move in.

So he has to call 8K more with.. 82 offsuit :) and I have him dominated.  I love this though.  I do get unlucky but how can you ask for a better chance to double?

I need to find create ways to maintain/grow my stack from 7 player to the money to making the money.

It seems like no opportunity is ideal since the big stacks are all over the place and I had marginal hands.. need help or hands at this point so I don't bleed down.

Any ideas?

$109 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (58th out of 284 Players)

Partners..

Got close to the money.. the maniac on our button just would not back off.

Eventually I had to make a stand with him holding A9 and he opens AA.. ooops bad timing.

I'd make that play 99/100 times though with the information on his play, my hand with my chip stack and the blinds where they were at.

May 4, 2008, 2AM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Broke Even at Home Game
$30 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 6 Players)

This was strange and fun.

Playing a home game tourney with Jason and his Grad Student friends.  They are interesting guys and I didn't really know any of them other than 2-10 minutes interactions if that.

Once they played poker their true colors came out.

Anyways.. we get down to 3 handed then I go out.  The very next hand my friend gets JJ and makes a small raise and the agro kid shoves in with A2 and wins the tourney.

What is funny about this is the kid wouldn't take our money and handed it back to everyone.  He is not wealthy nor a gambler.. he actually is really religious and said he had fun and could not except it.

He played great and played with a ton of heart and instincs.  Fun stuff.

May 4, 2008, 2AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $3.30 at Full Tilt
$3.30 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (25th out of 131 Players)

This was in the back ground as I was watching a movie etc.

Before I new it I was chip leader or 2nd and had a huge stack...

Then disaster struck..  JTs mid/late pos, blinds 250/500 and I raise to 1200.  Get a caller and see flop of T32 and I fire out 1800, he min raises me and I just call.  The turn is a J giving me top two.  I check and he bets 7k.. I move all in and he calls 9k more... I assumed I'd see AJ or maybe KK be he rolls over Q9s and has a flush and straight draw and hits it.  Only had 14 outs since I locked up one heart with one card to come :(.  This cripples me and I go out a few hands later.

What annoys me about this is the idiot called a riase pre with the hand but more so that when he totally missed the flop he tried to bluff me off with Q9 high no draw no pair.

Glad it was only $3 tourney :)
