July 31, 2007, 2PM: Played 4 hours, Made $4.60 at Poker Stars
Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (8th out of 1237 Players)

too much detail to even go into... was on the button at the final table in 6th of 8... had Ah-4h

i pegged a guy as an aggro, already went over the top of him once to steal his bet

so he leads out, i go over the top on him... no one else was in the hand... exceeeeeeept the SB and BB

SB calls, he calls

SB ends up having A-J... aggro i read right as having shit, with K-9... and he lost with K high

and i, however, lost with A high

July 28, 2007, 12AM: Played 1 hour, 15 minutes, Lost $40.00 at Oklahoma Firehall
$1/2 Texas Hold'em

never, ever, ever, ever have i been so card dead

i raised two hands during this entire sit down

i won ONE pot the whole time... the few times i stuck in pots on major odds because it was worth it (i.e. 7-1 when i have A-rag suited... gotta make that call)

but... cards didn't hit... i was able to temper myself so that losses weren't horrible

only hand i won i had A-Q off in the cutoff... four limpers, so i raised it to x6 the BB... one caller, Q-J-8... i make a 60-70% pot bet, or so... but she folds... for the first time ever ever

but that hand is why i only lost 40 in the cash game instead of 80... very loose, lots of limpers... just kept waiting for a strong hand that would flop a monster so i could get paid off... never worked

July 28, 2007, 12AM: Played 3 hours, Made $320.00 at Oklahoma Firehall
$60 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 28 Players)

played very solid, tight poker... only made two or three legit bluffs...

stole blinds twice
big hand

3 players get paid

we're at two tables

blinds are 1k - 2k

i have 18k

i'm in the SB with 8s-8h

MP raises to 4k... i call, BB calls, everyone else folds

flop As-9s-6d

i check, BB checks... MP bets 4k... seems like a very weak bet to continue with when the pot is 12k to go... so i'm getting 4-1 to call

fuck that, i raise it... he has to call 12.5k more to stick in cause i'm all in

pot is now 24.5k with a 12.5k to stay in... basically 2-1, he folds

i jump up my stack really well... it gives me enough room to work at at the final table so i get heads up after watching 4/5ths of the table donk their lives away

big play i made to put me in position to make a move at the final table... guy to my right, who i end up going heads up with, is very aggressive at the final table... leading out on almost any pair or two faces, and getting called down a lot... however, his variance makes me tricky (i.e., 3 handed, we're in a battle of the blinds and he limps in, i call, we check the whole way down and he shows A-Q)

well blinds are at 2k-4k... 6 handed... i'm in 3rd i have about 45k chips, but i've been playing like a rock... he jumps it up to 16k... i look down at A-Q and immediately make a quick push... one guy thinks hard and folds, he thinks... puts me on a pair... and he folds, he had like 5s or something

if he knew i had A-Q and that he was a slight favorite, he would've called to try and bust me... so i'm glad he folded, considering i didn't want to bust just out of the money like that... but i wanted to make my move so i didn't put myself in a decision where i had to push to get in position, or i could be in a weak spot if i tried to bust someone

i make the BIG heads up mistake i always make

i raise it up with K-9 off and get a call... my stack is at about 75k and i'd say he's at... well, there's 28 players... so 280k chips... actually like 28.5k since they blinded a stack out... so i'm down 205l - 75k

flop 10d-9-7

now my plan is to check-raise this... but that's not smart cause he's been tight-aggressive, i realize retrospect...

so i check, he checks 2nd to act

turn is a Kd

so the pot is about 30k... i bet 25k more of my 60k stack on kings up to try and pull it down, he calls

river is a Qd... i check, he goes all in... problem is, i'm getting 4-1/5-1 to call

other problem is, blinds are 4k-8k... so, that stack isn't lasting more than two BBs heads up without me making some wins

kings up is very strong, and he could be making a play so i havet o call

aaaand, for the 2nd of the last 3 times i went to this game, i finihsed 2nd... always ahead until the end

c'est la vie... i won some races, first time i was all in during the tourney

July 28, 2007, 12AM: Played 15 minutes, Lost $20.00 at Oklahoma Firehall
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (7th out of 11 Players)

turbo game... 4 minute blinds... won the first hand and was pot committed by the time the first orbit went around to me...

went all in UTG with Ac-4c and didn't hit at all... if i hadn't gone all in, i'd have about 4 orbits left... worst usage of $20 ever

July 24, 2007, 2PM: Played 5 hours, Lost $1.00 at Full Tilt
$1 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 10 Players)

okay, i can't buy a win

i keep playing single table satellites just to try to get back on track and keep losing either 2nd or 3rd

just went all in on a flop of Jc-7c-7 with my 7s-5 vs his Js-3c and he hit runner clubs to flush me out

lost an earlier one heads up when we both paired a flop with an ace, i had A-4 he had A-5 and it was one of the few boards where that 5 kicker would win it

won't mention how i lost one tourney since it's being discussed... just all low buy in shit that's frustrating me

July 24, 2007, 10AM:
i'd like some opinions on how i played this hand

the player in question is nebrico

during the first level... maybe 9 or 10 hands in, he min-raised preflop and i called from the SB with A-5 off... flop came out 2-5-Q

i bet, he min raised, i call
i check the turn on a blank, he makes a big bet i fold

does the same thing later, gets called down and shows a strong hand

does the same thing later, gets called down and shows a bluff, but had high cards

so... we get to this hand

Seat 1: nebrico (3,810)
Seat 2: XNXICEMANXNX (4,775)
Seat 3: sauceman31 (7,455)
Seat 4: Steveinho (1,465)
Seat 5: vilydes (1,625)
Seat 6: tiledude3 (2,605)
sauceman31 posts the small blind of 25
Steveinho posts the big blind of 50
The button is in seat #2
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Steveinho [4c 7d]
vilydes folds
tiledude3 calls 50
nebrico raises to 100
XNXICEMANXNX folds
sauceman31 calls 75
Steveinho calls 50
tiledude3 calls 50

loose call... i made it banking on it being a small raise and if i hit the flop being able to reel in a huge pot

*** FLOP *** [6d 9s 5h]
sauceman31 checks
Steveinho checks
tiledude3 checks
nebrico bets 400
sauceman31 folds
Steveinho raises to 1,365, and is all in
tiledude3 folds
nebrico calls 965

my logic was seeing him bet the pot again and putting him on a bluff... i'll just leave this as is for like, a day or two, and then post the results

just some thoughts on the check-raise all in semi-bluff

July 20, 2007, 8PM: Played 2 hours, 48 minutes, Lost $60.00 at Oklahoma Firehall
$60 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (5th out of 22 Players)

tough one...

got to the final table, watched people go out... gradually got blinded down, so i pushed for about x3 the BB with pocket 3s

got called by A-J and won the race

so i'm in much better shape... few hands later, guy goes all in from first position... i'm in the BB, and i spy A-K... i call quickly

he has A-Q

flop A-5-9

turn Q
river Q

short stacked again... few hands later i push from 1st with K-8 off... get called by the big stack, who had to call, with 2c-5c and he rivered the wheel

i played pretty well i felt, only one time did the cards bail me out and i was ahead each time i pushed... just, some nights aren't your night

July 19, 2007, 8AM: Played 24 minutes, Lost $1.00 at Full Tilt
$1 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (5th out of 9 Players)

and the experiment dies!

had two guys all in... one had Jh-3h one had Ks-10s and i had Ad-10c

i held until the river when a K hit... the J-3 had the small stack, so i would've still won the bigger pot had that K not hit

i was short then... had like and M of something like 5... in the SB, i had K-J... so i pushed... right into the BB's pocket Aces

funny, i played four tables on there the past two days... three were just FPP satellites, and two of the times i busted were against the AA in a favorable spot

yesterday it was with KK against an aggro going all in, i call, and the second caller had AA

today it's a solid hand in the battle of the blinds... Poker Stars always nails me, i think it's just in my brain like that... that's why i waste all my time on FT now, i think i just have a mental block with it

$0.05/0.10 Texas Hold'em

trying to resurrect my account i severely busted in the spring... how do you do that?

.2/.4 cent limit until you hit a dollar and can play a sit and go!

great success!
