June 30, 2007, 10PM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Made $259.70 at FT
$5 Buy-In Pot-Limit Omaha Tournament (1st out of 204 Players)

Started strong and built a decent stack.  Again, I hit what seems to be my trademark lull about 1.5 hrs in.  This time I tightened up and waited for the hands to come to me.  I took advantage of a couple of limp in opportunities in the blinds to make some good hands and keep me alive.

Made the final table 2nd in chips.  Still very patient, but selectively aggressive.  Most of the time playing "small ball" limping to see flops and then playing aggressively if I feel I have the best of it.  I have not been tricky.  I've bet my hands and taken down small pots, and been lucky that I haven't been drawn out on a few times.  I like to manipulate pot size.  Especially when shorter stacked.

The 3 to 1 chip leader is seated immediately to my left, so I can avoid him, but lose most blinds as he plays the big stack aggressively.  If I can catch a hand with him in, I'm sure he will double me up.

I was right.  I doubled through the chip leader and took that position until heads up.  I miss played a hand and ended up 7 to 1 chip dog.  Doubled through on the next hand and played slb from there out.  Finally a good result.  I believe that I am playing as well as I ever have.  My messing around at the lower limits is a function of my funds, not my skills at this point.  For most of my poker "career" it was the other way around.

June 30, 2007, 8PM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $6.50 at FT
$6 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (130th out of 210 Players)

Getting tricky cost me my stack once again.  I started the tourney strong and aggressive and had over 4k and in top ten.  I should have coasted and waited for my spots, but I didn't.  Bad move, especially in this tourney as top 48 won $26 tourney tokens.

In the past I have played "cards" instead of playing poker.  i.e. very tight and predictable.  I have loosened up my game a bit and it has worked as I have had bigger chip stacks, but I have not reigned in my aggression and the early succes gets to my head.  I start feeling invincible and make very stupid plays.  My game is still a work in progress.

June 29, 2007, 2PM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Made $12.50 at FT
$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 18 Players)

Played strong and was chip leader for most of the tourney.  Made a couple bad plays at the end, but they were at least aggressive plays.  I need to be more careful when getting smooth called.

June 28, 2007, 8PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $26.00 at FT
$24 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (362nd out of 638 Players)

Played well, then the wheels came off.  Starting w/ AK vs QQ. I loose the race, then proceed to finish off my stack.  I should have walked away from the computer for a bit.

June 28, 2007, 8PM: Played 2 hours, Lost $5.50 at FT
$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (26th out of 90 Players)

I played very well in this one.  I built steadily and was in the top 10 in chips all tourney.  Last hand was a great one: 66 on button flop 467, turn 9 and I get all in to double to 3rd in chips against 79.  Of course the 7 comes on the river, or I wouldn't be writing this right now.  Great tourney for me, just a bad beat, but that is poker.
