July 21, 2006, 11AM: Played 8 hours, Lost $781.00 at California Grand
$12/24 Texas Hold'em

Starting to feel like Jesse and Daryl.  What a downward spiral we're on.  Think I'm taking Daryl's advice and sticking to the lower limits to book a few wins again.  Getting tired of the 1 and 2 outters getting there.  A few examples are

AK vs A5 off lost
QQ vs J10 off lost
JJ vs 88 lost

Had the privileage to watch one donkey play every hand for 2 hours and win all but 3.  Buys in for 300 and cashs for 2100.  Guess my luck isn't good enough to have the deck hit me in the head that hard.  What's that saying...."I'ld rather be lucky then good".  That's what I'm thinking right now.

July 20, 2006, 1AM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Lost $600.00 at California Grand
$12/24 Texas Hold'em

Back to the old ways in this crappy game.  I should know better then to beat my head against a brick wall.  I literally fold every hand for the first hour.  Then I walk into 3 hands back to back.

First one is QJ in the big blind.  With 6 way action, I check.  The flop of QJ4 rainbow I'm feeling pretty good.  I check raise and everyone calls.  Turn and river comes blank blank and I get raised on the river.  I 3 bet guy 4 bets.  Turns over 44 for a set.

Next one is K10 hearts.  Limp in middle position.  Get a good flop of AQ6..royal draw.  With 7 way action I bet to narrow the field.  Get 4 callers.  Turn is a 8 hearts giving me the nut flush.  I get bet and raised into.  I 3 bet it and it gets capped.  Turn is a 8.  Bet into again.  I raise and he re-raises so I just call.  Shows me 68 full house.

Final hand was the end.  Raise in early position with JJ.  Get the button to call and the SB 3 bets.  I call.  Flop of J77.  We all check the flop.  Turn a 3, SB bets, I raise button 3 bets, I 4 bet.  River 3.  I bet, button raises while saying, "I think I have the nuts".  I just call and shows me 77 for quads.

Don't think I could have played these hands differently.  Maybe could have cost me fewer chips????? Take my beating, lick my wounds and I'll get them tomorrow.

July 17, 2006, 2AM: Played 2 hours, 30 minutes, Made $210.00 at California Grand
$12/24 Texas Hold'em

Nice to get a win at this limit for a change.  The line up was great.  All 10 played solid poker.  Was easy to put someone on a hand and to make a move when they had nothing.

July 14, 2006, 2AM: Played 3 hours, 15 minutes, Made $67.00 at California Grand
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

I'll take this small win.  Got stuck 600 so happy with it.  Couldn't believe the big hands I got snapped.  The biggest one was AA.  Need your help here....could I have played this differently????? After playing pretty aggressive and loose when I first sat down.  Paid off a couple of all-ins with 50/50 draws.  I didn't play a hand for over a hour.  Wake up with AA UTG.  Open for $20.  The cut-off calls and the BB calls.  Flop of KQ8 rainbow.  BB checks, I fired $50, cut-off calls, BB calls.  Turn is 8.  Check, I bet $240 all-in and cut-off calls, BB folds.  He show 85 hearts.  I miss on the river.

After steaming and folding for the next 20 minutes I get moved to the main game.  Start playing solid again and let that hand go since it's a new table.  Grind for a while and the same guy gets moved to the table.  He's UTG and makes it $13.  Next guy raises to $26, one caller.  I look down and see AA again.  I reraise to $126 and the SB calls.  The other 3 guys now fold.  Flop of Qxx rainbow.  SB bets $100 I go all-in for last $140 he calls with KJ clubs.  Turn a K river blank to get a nice double up. The first raiser say "I fold 55".  If he really had that I'm not sure but thank you for the SB call to push him out. Pick up a few more pots after that to make a win.

July 14, 2006, 2AM: Played 1 hour, 15 minutes, Made $144.00 at California Grand
$6/12 Texas Hold'em

Started playing solid poker.  Then the game started getting short handed.  Knowing that aggression tends to win short handed, I start firing.  Pick up several decent pots with bluffs.  After showing a couple of them I start getting action on my bets.  Pays off except one hand.  Have KK with a raise to me.  I 3 bet and the button 4 bets.  Flop of 774 (2 clubs), bb bets I raise button 3 bets I 4 bet cause the button only has 5 chips left.  On the turn he gets all-in when a 10 comes.  The river brings a little club.  I get paid off by the other guy who has JJ and the all-in has A6 clubs.  Little frustrated but that's they way the play here.  Then my NL seat comes open.

Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (559th out of 3500 Players)

Guy risks all his chips on a 4 nut flush draw and gets lucky enough to get there against QQ.  Pretty much busts me.  Go all-in 2 hands later with AQ hearts and get beat by Q4 off.

Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1,425th out of 3500 Players)

Was short stacked and tried to make a move.  Big stack of 50K at table just wouldn't lay down a hand.  Got beat with 73off.

JJ vs. KK played well but just could make it last.  Ok though, already qualified, just was practicing and trying to keep one less person from moving on.
