October 31, 2006, 12AM: Played 5 hours, 15 minutes, Made $570.00 at Forrests
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

played tight, didnt get crazy with anything. limped with 6-8 diamonds and then called a $13 raise. 5 handed to flop: 2-4-5 all diamonds. i flop flush with a double gutted strt flush draw. first guy goes allin for $100. i move in for $160. preflop raiser calls allin for $80. i up against set of 2s and AA for nut flush draw. Flop Odds. turn is a diamond and i only win a small side pot. much later, i was back to even, we're 7 handed. Ben straddles for $10, Justin calls, i look down at QQ and raise to $30. Rob calls from SB, BJ calls from BB, Ben calls from utg, Justin calls. Flop Q86. BJ bets $35 into $150, folded to me, i smooth call to try and bring Rob into the hand, and he obliges. Turn is another 8, giving me a full house. Rob wants to bet but checks. BJ wants to bet but checks, so i go ahead and move in for $107. Rob moves allin and BJ calls allin. Rob hit trip 8s with A8, BJ has 6s full of 8s, and i take down a monster pot. makes all that folding and waiting worthwhile

October 26, 2006, 4PM: Played 11 hours, Lost $800.00 at Caesars Indiana
$5 Pot-Limit Omaha

people kept outdrawing me. it was sick. everytime i had a hand, i bet it til i couldnt bet it any more, and someone would call on some sort of a draw and it would hit everytime. I flop a straight and the flush hits. i make a flush and the board pairs for a boat. over and over. listen to this hand. this is what started it all, and later put me on tilt: 3 handed to an unraised pot, flop is 456 with 2 hearts. i have 78 for the stone cold nuts. there is no hand that can beat me, but the is a flush draw, so i decided to bet it as much as possible. well the BB leads out for the pot $30. i repot, making it $150 to go. then the crazy redneck guy thinks, and moves allin for over $300. then the BB thinks and moves allin for about $900. If i make the call i have about only $200 left. So i figure out that at least one of them, if not both, have the same hand as me, and that at least one of them, if not both have a redraw, either hearts or to a full house. i dont have any redraw. my hand is as good as it can get. i cant improve. so i realize that the best i can do is split the pot, but the worst i can do is lose $900 if i get outdrawn. there is no value in calling. so fold my hand faceup. of course, they both show me 78 also, and only one of them has a redraw, and it doesnt hit. they end up splitting my $150. i know that i absolutely made the right laydown, but the fact that no other draw hit really set me off. and then none of my other hands hit, and i started losing money in large chunks and there was nothing i could do to get it back. none of my hands stood up. every hand got outdrawn. totally sick. finally, at the end of the night, everyone decided to leave, but since i was still stuck, i talked this one guy to play with me headsup. lsiten to this: this is how unlucky i am. this guy made the nut straight, or a flush or a full house in 25 of the 30 hands we played. he even made quads 2 twice!! headsup he hit quads two times!! it was ridiculous. i could do evrything right, and the cards would just line up for him. so i finally, smartly, decided to cash out my last $200 instead of losing it all to him, which i could have easily done. what a freakin ridiculous night.

anyway, i did win an interesting hand early on when i drew out on someone. on the flop, i bet the pot on my straight draw, and one guy called. i hit the nut straight on the turn, i bet, he raised, i reraised, we got it allin. we have the same nut straight. he also has 2 pair for a full house redraw, and i also have an over card for a higher straight redraw. we both have 4 outs to improve our hand, and i hit mine on the river to win the whole pot. Here are the percentages when the money went in on the turn. Nice catch!

what a crappy trip. we're leaving early cuz we're both stuck and both running bad, and its cold and rainy and we hate it here. i hate this place. never coming back.

$500 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (112th out of 293 Players)

played well. played very well. but made one mistake, only one, and it cost me the tourney. at the break i only had 1300 in chips, down from the 2000 we started with. but i hadnt done anything wrong, some hands just didnt go my way. but i managed to survive, and came back to build my stack to almost 5000. then, i raise in late position with 66 and the bb, an older guy who was pretty weak, calls. flop KQ2, he checks to me, i bet 800 into 1000, he calls slowly. turn is another 2 and he immediately moves allin, for most of my stack. i think about it and fold, telling him i know he has A2, and he shows me A2. good read, thanks buddy, nice catch. couple hands later in bb with AQ, the same guy raises about 5X the blind, and when it folds around to me, i move allin and get him to fold JJ. very next hand in the SB i have AK. the bb is allin dark. the utg player limps, a new player at the table raise 5x the blind, and an aggressive player calls. what are my options here? well, after some thought, i decided to play safe and see a flop. as soon as the word "call" comes out of my mouth, i know that it was the wrong decision. i even tell the guy next to me that i'm gonna go broke on this hand. flop is AJ6, i check-raise the bettor allin and he calls with AJ and i lose. the bb shows J2, which makes it a 2 outer he hit, which sux, but i fell like i have only myself to blame for this one. any thoughts guys?

October 25, 2006, 4PM: Played 3 hours, 30 minutes, Made $378.00 at Caesars Indiana
$5 Pot-Limit Omaha

played like an idiot, making bad calls and chasing bad draws. when my first buyin was down to $200, i reloaded for $400 more, putting me in the game for $900 total. but i once again pulled myself out of the hole. slowly climbed back. key hand: we were playing 4 handed, so straddled, for a couple of reasons. wanted to build bigger pot and i would reinforce my position as the button. well, the pot was raised to $40 by player A, who i've played with quite a bit and had a very good read on, and player B called. i had to defend my straddle, even with 5c5h6s8h, so i call. Flop is JQK rainbow. player A checks while shaking his head, player B think about betting but opts not to. I know the only way i can win this hand is to bet, and its already a $125 pot, so i bet $90. Player A thinks about it folds, i think he probably had aces. Player B thinks and grudgingly calls, not what i wanted to see. turn is 3 hearts, so now i have an 8 high flush draw. Player B checks. At this point i think about the hands i've played with him and if he had ever slow played the nuts or made any gutsy calls on dangerous boards. i couldnt think of anything, so i feel like i can get him to fold any hand here besides a straight. i bet $250 into a $305 pot, which is about half his stack. after a minute, he turns over top set of Ks and folds. Woohoo!! After that big bluff, i caught some cards and had a little run. Shortly thereafter, the guy busted and i decided to take my profit and run. hell yeah!

$500 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (12th out of 35 Players)

mega satelite to main event, gave away 3 seats. got a decent stack, but lost a race with 44 from BB when i called a short stacks allin. i knew i was ahead, but he hit a Q on me. later, i pushed in with KQ, got called by QJ, flopped a K, but then the dealer put a straight on the board to split the pot. as a short stack, pushed in with J10 when it was folded to me on the button. chip leader in BB called with A6 and i didnt improve again. what a rough day. didnt get anything going in any tourney. so frustrating. i dont feel like i could have done a whole lot differently to improve my results. blah

October 24, 2006, 5PM: Played 1 hour, 25 minutes, Lost $280.00 at Caesars Indiana
$180 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 10 Players)

8 players put up an extra $100 each on the side, including me. lasted very long as the short stack, often pushing in to raises with little of a hand. won several races to hang around, but never built the stack. got to 3 handed, they said if i got even with them we would chop, so push in with 9-10 suited, didnt improve against A6
